network capabilities, thereby allowing the controller to become an IP addressable net-
work device. It can then be accessed from any PC on a Local or Wide Area Network
which has the Doors.NET software installed. If multiple LAN-520 modules are being
used with Doors.NET then you can still monitor and administer the controllers and doors
concurrently, as though they were one site.
NXT Mercury-Powered
The NXT Mercury-Powered TCP/IP based controllers provide enhanced capabilities to
Doors.NET because they are embedded with very sophisticated firmware from Mercury.
A whole new set of features becomes available for applications with advanced and cus-
tomized requirements. This broadens the scope of NXT hardware capability such that it
makes it a very good choice for High-End and Enterprise applications and facilities, as
well as mid-sized projects. Standard NXT controllers and Mercury-Powered NXT con-
troller version can both be used on the same projects, with the Mercury-Powered version
deployed at the locations that require the extra capability.
